RAW 2009

So it has been a while since I have updated my blog.

The Riverdale Art Walk has come and gone and was a great success. Opening up my Studio and hom to the world was a bit of a challenge but at the end of the day it was a great experience.

The show focused mainly on my new works 'Flying High' which were really well recieved.

Here are a few pics:

Flight - New Paintings

The Idea of Flight

As a boy...as all small boys, I dreamed of Airplanes, motorcycles, cars, trucks and boats...they were a passion...and they still are.

They represent Speed, Adventure, Excitment and Freedom!!

I have started to paint with a goal of capturing those dreams of childhood simplistity. Fun, whimsical and adventure. I found inspiration in the simplest of childhood toys...the paper airplane. Learning to fold a piece of paper into an airplane is almost a right of passage for all little boys. Furiously folding paper torn from binders and notebooks...trying to make the plane fly longer and faster then the other kids.
Inspired by this simplest of toys and memories of tossing these paper creations into the sky and watching them soar through the sky I have started capturing them on canvas.
